1st Gen Moto X soon to get Android 5.1 Update

As all the Moto X users have been patiently waiting for Android 5.1, and even Android 5.0.2 which was cancelled, now David Schuster of Motorola today has informed via a Google+ post that the Moto X 1st Gen will soon start getting the final version of Android 5.1 as early as next week, Most of Moto X users are still on Android 4.4.4 since there are no custom ROMs available which support the X's highly popular touchless control feature.

David Schuster says that the soak test update is now live in France and Germany, and that after taking care of an issue found in previous test versions, the test will also begin in US and Brazil later this week. If all the things go well, the public will get the update any time in the next week.

Moto G Google Play Edition receiving Android 5.1 Update

Till now many of the said devices are pending to get the Android 5.0 Update, in the mean time Google has started rolling out the Android 5.1 update for some of its Nexus devices. Now, stock Android Google Play edition models are in row to get the Android 5.1 Update and the very first model to get the Android 5.1 Lollipop taste is Motorola Moto G Google Play Edition, which is receiving 171MB Android 5.1 update OTA.

The Moto G is apparently the first Google Play edition model to receive Android 5.1 update. The update brings number of improvements some of which are as follows

• Improved battery life
• Improved 64-bit ART compiler
• Better RAM management 
• System stability Improved.

The main improvement is that lost or stolen phones will remain locked and will be unable to run without the owner entering his/her Google account information, even if the phone is factory reset.

The build number for the Android 5.1 update is LMY47M. Because the update is being sent out in waves, you might not receive it right away. Don't panic. Android 5.1 will eventually hit your Moto G Google Play edition.

Moto X 2013 getting Android L Soak Test in Brasil, Leaked Images

Motorola has started seeding the Moto X 2013 with the Android 5.0.2 in Brasil. There are all the changes that should have got to the Moto X 2013, that is the Moto Voice and the Active Display, Moto X 2013 has got the Voice Control from Moto X 2014. Moto X 2013 users are really excited for the update, just like us!

The Android 5.0.2 update consists of 400 MB which is less, and even after waiting for such a long time Moto X users still getting the 5.0.2 version although 5.1 version was being speculated.

The Soak test has started and hence in about a month we should get the new Android Lollipop taste. But as we all know still some Moto G 1st Gen And 2nd Gen users are waiting for the update, it will be rolled out in phases. That means you might have to wait more than some other users but you will surely get the update.

Moto X 1st Gen may get Android L by April

Moto X 2013 has been waiting from a long time for the Lollipop Update. Motorola's first phone of the Moto series might be getting Android L by the end of March, as was said by Gopinath Palaniappan who works at Motorola Mobility on a Google Plus post. It is a very good news for Moto X users if the words by Gopinath turn out to be true and we get the L update as soon as possible.

In a comment on the post, Gopinath said that the Dev-Edition of Moto X 1st Gen will get Android L by mid-April while the unlocked will get it by the end of  April.

So if you are a Moto X user and you do get an e-mail for the Moto X Android L update then do inform us about the same.
