OnePlus launches the Oxygen OS finally

OnePlus was to launch the Oxygen OS quite early about on 28th March, but after a small delay today on 4th April they launched the Oxygen OS, and is now available to get hold of on the company's website but as it is a certainly new OS you will have to flash it manually !! Currently its not available as an OTA Update. It looks that many users will have a tough time installing the new OS especially the once who have never been through the process of installing a new recovery or maybe a new OS, to solve the same OnePlus has given a detailed instruction on the official forums(Link at the end of the post).

As Oneplus noted in the blog post
"Developing OxygenOS has been an incredibly fun and challenging experience for all of us. In this environment where everyone is fighting to standout with custom ROMs, we think it’s important to go back to basics. We place things like performance and battery life over gimmicks and bloated features."
The Oxygen OS is not completely ready as of now as OnePlus has listed some of the bugs along with which includes

  • When printing images, printer service may stop
  • Cannot hang up a call using headphone controls (intermittent)
  • OTG can only recognize FAT32 file system
  • During system update, display of wifi/data notification may be incorrect
  • During system update, display of version number may be incorrect

OnePlus OxygenOS images make rounds

Today we had some leaked images of a OnePlus phone that tends to look like a shot of OxygenOS.
Leaksfly, a twitter handle has leaked images of two different OS running on the OnePlus One.

The first image could be that of the upcoming OxygenOS, where we can see the Oxygen weather app. The image doesn't look very authentic and could be fake. The other makes no sense as it shows the OnePlus One running Windows Phone OS, but it rather looks like a Windows 8 launcher app. Everything was in Chinese on the screen.

OnePlus has already announced the date of release of its OxygenOS which is the 27th of this month. We may get some more images as the dates get closer. What you guys think of these leaked images?
