Moto X 3rd Gen soon, Motorola President hints

Motorola seems to be following a One Year round for all its handsets, Like for the Moto X, Moto G and even Moto E. Now it's time to debut a new mobile for Motorola a flagship handset as it feels that Moto X is really going to be a old handset as its running on Snapdragon 801 and we are talking about devices having Snapdragon 815 & 820 soon. Motorola is developing the new model as we got the a very bad screen shot of the specs of the Moto X 3rd Gen, some time ago.

Rick Osterloh, Motorola's President, today confirmed that the company's trying "to stay on a roughly annual cycle for all of our products, including Moto X." Since the previous Moto X models were introduced in August and September, respectively, So we expect to see the 3rd gen around that period only.

Last month, Motorola and Qualcomm confirmed that a new Moto flagship smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor would be introduced this year. As Motorola is saying that Moto X will be "smarter than any other smartphone." The next iteration of the Moto X will be having latest Android at the launch, a near stock version and some more customizability options available this time round maybe something like Moto E, ie you can customize your phone at the home. Let's see what Motorola have in store for us.

Facebook Messenger goes Open-Source at FB's F8 Conference

Facebook today at the F8 Conference in San Francisco, announced that the new Facebook Messenger app is going to be an Open-Source development project, and even Third-Party developers will be able to develop add-ons to work with the FB Messenger app. Now the Messenger app will allow you to add following along with your messages:
  • personalized music messages
  • animated photo effects

Facebook has also announced the Messenger Business which will allow users to communicate with merchants, like
  • sending a direct message
  • making a reservation
  • checking shipping information

As of today, 40 apps support Facebook Messenger, but Facebook is encouraging developers to build its functionality into their own platforms moving forward. Many of the early partners working with Facebook Messenger are focused on photos and entertainment. Some apps were developed specifically for the platform, while others are building Messenger as an added feature.

The Apps that will be made to work with Facebook Messenger are said to be available to directly download from the Messenger app. You will now be able to add a Message button to our apps which allows our users to initiate a Message directly from your app.

Facebook wants to highlight its Messenger service and by allowing third-party interaction, it will surely get more traffic on the Messenger app.

Snapdragon 420 to be hotter than Snapdragon 410 as indicated by Tests

It looks like Qualcomm is in the final stage of the new gen chipset like we just published the leaked graphs of the tests that were performed on :
Today we got the graphs of the Snapdragon 420 chipset compared with Snapdragon 410. The Snapdragon 410 has not been reported have any performance or heating issues. We have seen the chipset being used in popular phones like Samsung Grand Prime, Xiaomi Redmi 2, and even in the recently launched Moto E 2nd Gen. But the Snapdragon 420 which is the next iteration of the Snapdragon 410 seems to be heating more than its predecessor.

As the chipsets are currently in development, the final variant may have the issues resolved but as of now the chipsets are having some heating issues and Qualcomm may even delay the launch of the Snapdragon 420 to try and rectify the problem.

From the graphs we can see that Snapdragon 410 is cooler at 41 degrees than the Snapdragon 420 which touched 44 Degree Celcius. Both the test devices had no Cellular or Wifi antennae nor Bluetooth, and featured a qHD display with 4.7 inches of screen size. The test game played on the devices was Asphalt 8 on Medium Graphics setting.

Seeing the results of all the ranges of chips, it looks like Qualcomm is working to improve the chips but in the Mid-Low Segment they haven't been successful in keeping the temperatures under control and we may see the new devices with the Snapdragon 420 to be getting heated more than the Snapdragon 410 chips. That being said, Qualcomm is probably working on optimizing the chips and trying to get all the issues fixed.

HTC holding an event on 8th April, HTC One M9+ expected

From a long time we have been getting leaks for the HTC One M9+, and finally HTC has scheduled an official event for April 8th that will likely lift the covers off the not-so-mysterious upcoming high-end phone. The event will be held under the “More than One” slogan, and the teaser image for it shows a device with a design similar to the HTC One M9, but with what looks like dual cameras. HTC has already used this dual-camera approach in last year’s One M8 where the practically identical secondary rear camera was used to achieve some bokeh-like effects for images.

So far, leaks agree that the HTC One M9+ will feature a slightly larger One M9,
  • 5.2-inch display
  • 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD)
  • MediaTek chip (maybe Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC)
  • Fingerprint scanner
The HTC One M9+ event will be taking place in Beijing, which is a strong hint that the device might only be for the Asian markets. Only two weeks until we see the official announcement.

Xiaomi to introduce some devices on its Anniversary

Xiaomi is soon to turn 5. In just a short time span, Xiaomi has been able to garner a large fan base.
