New leaks on iPhone 6S - 2GB RAM, 12 MP camera and A9 chip

Apple's current crop of smartphones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been doing very well as far as Apple's sales number go. The two devices are in huge demand in all major markets, in spite of fierce competition from new players like Xiaomi. While tech enthusiasts are still debating over whether the next version of the iPhone will be the iPhone 6S or the iPhone 7, we now have fresh leaks about the specifications about the upcoming Apple smartphone.

The latest rumors suggest that the design of the new iPhone will not change much, but it will be built using high quality anodized Aluminium, which is used in the Apple Watch Sports. The phone is speculated to sport a near bezel-less retina display. It will carry underneath it the Apple A9 chip which is built using 14nm process. It will be supported by 2 GB LPDDR4 of RAM. The A9 chip is being built by Samsung, and could house a quad-core processor.

Apart from that, the new iPhone will also see an upgrade in the camera department with a 12 MP dual-lens camera that will enable it to shoot DSLR-like pictures. It will also feature a reversible USB Type-C port which we saw on this year's Macbook. ForceTouch is said to be integrated and there is also a gesture controlled feature. There will be an additional color option, Rose Gold to match the Apple Watch Edition.

The iPhone is expected to be launched in September 2015, with production beginning in August.
There were rumors about a 4-inch version of the iPhone this year, but it seems that won't be the case.
