Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 4i which is a budget variant of the current flagship of Xiaomi the Mi4, the phone gave heating issues to many users, the phone employs Snapdragon 615 SoC which is a octa core chipset with 1.7 Ghz CPU and Adreno 405 coupled with the same. The phone at the launch was said to feature the 2nd Gen of Snapdragon 615, which will be free from the heating issues, that were found of the original Snapdragon 615.
Unfortunately the same was not seen on the phone, which in fact was heating upto 53 degrees which is insanely high. To have a solution for the same, Xiaomi released a huge update of 804 MB, which upgrades your phone to V6.5.4.0 LXIMICD version, the update is said to control the thermal algorithm of the phone.

According to a statement from Xiaomi India product manager Jai Mani, the update to the Mi 4i will
"adjust frequency, voltage and the number of cores in use (on the CPU) depending on the chipset temperature."
So far, there have been no complaints about the performance of updated Mi 4i units.
