With the launch of the new Helio X & Helio P series by MediaTek, it was quite sure that we will be getting top notch chipsets from MediaTek too in future. The new upcoming chipset which will be incorporated in flagship devices the MT6797 is being discussed at a technology partners meet, and got its specs revealed.
The chipset works on 64-bit system and will have 4 cores of Cortex A53 clocked at 1.4 Ghz while another four clocked at 2.0 Ghz which are Cortex A57 based, their are two more cores which are clocked at 2.5 Ghz and hence will distribute the processing likewise.
The new SoC by MediaTek will be made via 20nm process and will be incorporating ARM Mali-T880 MP4 as its GPU which can be clocked upto 700MHz, the chip will sport following feature
- encoding & decoding H.265 4K/2K video at 30 FPS
- display resolution upto 2560x1600
- 25MP camera sensors with Native3D 2.0 technology
- 993MHz LPDDR3 RAM,
- LTE Cat-6.
MediaTek chipsets are quite common in mobile phones from china, and with MediaTek making to compete with SoC makers like Exynos and Qualcomm its quite good that we will even get phones from China and even from other brands having one more chipset choice.
