Foxconn to enter India with new Manufacturing Plants

You must have heard of Foxconn, which manufactures phones on contract, like they make for Apple, now a rumors point to the return of Foxconn in India, as in Make in India program that Indian government is trying to push out, they are planing a large plant in Pune, Aurangabad, Gujrat, Noida or Andhra Pradesh.

Recently Devendra Fandnavis Chief Minister of state, confirmed that Foxconn is going to invest a large sun in Pune or Aurangabad. This all dovetails with a "Made in India" program that the current government has pushed since its last political campaign.

Devendra Fadnavis, Indian Chief Minister said,
"India has the world’s largest number of cellphones but only 7 percent of these mobile handsets are manufactured in the country. The rest are imported. Foxconn is eager to set up a complete ecosystem with (even) suppliers and not just an assembly line"
Foxconn has hired former Nokia executive Josh Foulger, to set up the plant in India, who years before helped Nokia set up their manufacturing plant in Chennai. So it looks like the plan of Foxconn is really soon to be in reality.
