MediaTek's Deca core chipset is now official

As it was being said for the new MediaTek lineup the Helio X & Helio P, the very first Helio X20 is here which is the world's first 10 cores chipset for Smartphones. The chipset is focused for Upper-mid ranged handsets, and we will be getting the very first handset powered by the Helio X20 in Q1 2016.

The Chipset has a big.mid.Little configuration in which the cores are as follow:

• 4x Cortex A53 @ 1.4 Ghz Max
• 4x Cortex A53 @ 2.0 Ghz Max
• 2x Cortex A72 @ 2.5 Ghz Max

this is the tri cluster approach which Mediatek is approaching with, and yes even Snapdragon looks to build up another chipset with the same approach.

The graphics of the phone which the chipset will power will be Handel via ARM Mali-T800 which is not announced yet. The phone only supports the DDR3 RAM only, which it maxes out at Quad HD for display the X20 is said to be made with the 20nm production process. 

So we will have to wait till next year for the deca core chipsets to be in the phone, and the users using those deca core handsets.
