LG G4 launched with new camera and retro leather back

The new LG G4

As announced, LG has launched their next flagship the LG G4 at launch events that were held simultaneously in London and New York.
The phone has specs that are in line with the latest flagships from competitors. The phones seems to be camera-centric with many new features added to the in-house camera module.
LG has mainly focused on design, display and camera in their launch event held in London and New York.

The specs of the LG G4 are as follows:
  • 5.5" QHD quantum display
  • Hexa-core Snapdragon 808
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32 GB internal storage with microSD card slot
  • 16MP f1.8 OIS camera
  • 8 MP front camera
  • 3000 mAh replaceable battery
  • Wireless charging
  • LG UX4.0 (based on Android 5.1 Lollipop)
  • Retro leather back

The specs may seem quite usual for 2015 flagship but what LG is offering here is quite amazing.
It's the finest details that LG has improved rather than just stuffing with high specs. The display is a new QHD display which boasts 20% wider color reproduction, 25% improvement in brightness and 50% higher contrast over the G3. LG have employed vegetable tanning for the Leather back cover, which is typical of the luxury leather industry. The phone has a slight arc to its chassis and a soft-touch rear that sets it apart from rival Android smartphones. The power button is again located at the back, which is difficult to get used to but does enhance single-handed use.

The camera is capable of taking highly professional photos with the new updated camera app that gives you complete control of the camera hardware. It has new sensor to help with better photography.
LG has gone for Snapdragon 808 chipset rather than 810 which is present on the G Flex 2 mainly because of heating problems. The Snapdragon 808 is a hexa-core chip with four Cortex A-53 and two A-57 cores.

The new interface has been given a complete overhaul with the Android material design implementation on top of LG's UX 4.0. There are many features included as before which comes quite handy. LG has provided expandable storage on the G4, which is lacking in most of the flagships today, and is sure to be lauded by consumers.

The G4 is expected to retail around $700 and a $100 extra for the leather back one.
What do you think of LG's new flagship?
