If you remember, Whatsapp was looking to integrate with Google Drive to save our dearly chat on a cloud drive. So that it will not matter whether you are on the same phone or have changed the phone, your messages can be derived from Google's large cloud storage, which you get with every Google email account. If you also want the same update, you can log on to
www.whatsapp.com/Android to get the latest build which is 2.12.45, and it will bring for you the Google drive backup option, on the install it will ask you to allow access of Google Account to whatsapp.
When you will allow Whatsapp to comunicate with Google drive then you can also set some options like:
- Backup Frequency
- Backup Mode [ Cellular Data || WiFi ]
As of now the same update is not rolling out via OTA on Play store but it will soon within a week via the Play Store, but if you want to experience the same before each one get the update you can move forward to
www.whatsapp.com/Android and experience the update, or alternatively you can just wait for a couple of days to be available via Play Store.
