Mediatek Helio X (MT6797) gets its specs revealed

If you remember about the MediaTeks Inclusion on Helio X & Helio P series to the existing lineup of Chipset. As of now we are not having any idea about the chipsets in the Helio P series but we have got 2 chipsets:

• Helio X10 
• Helio X20 

in the Helio X lieup and in which Helio X20 is the first chipset to have 10-cores .

Today we got some new piece of information about the MT6797 which is the Helio X20 and hence is a 10-cores supporting chipset. The images show that the MT6797 will include 3 diffrent sturctures with following combinations

• 2x 2.5GHz Cortex-A72 cores 
• 4x 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 cores
• 4x 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 cores

As MediaTek claims that the chipset will be capable of scoring more then 70,000 mark on Antutu which is quite high for the chipsets which we are having now in our mobile devices.

The MT6797 will employ MediaTek's Tri-Cluster CPU Architecture. The 4+4 A53 cores will use the big.LITTLE architecture to provide a balance of power and efficient battery use. The chip will be produced using TSMC's 20nm process and does support LTE-A/Cat. 6. The latter provides data speed as fast as 300Mbps.

Mass production of the MT6797 is expected to begin in July, which means it could be the end of the year before manufacturers start using the chip inside new smartphones. The big question is whether MediaTek can break into the U.S. market and provide a real challenge to Qualcomm.
