Xiaomi partners with AOKP for MIUI 7

Rumors are saying that Xiaomi has teamed up with the Android Open Kang Project team to work on the MIUI 7 Rom which will be the next iteration to MIUI . The AOKP members shared that they are  working with Xiaomi’s developers team to make the MIUI 7 in a full new experience, it will be interesting to see a new ROM from Xiaomi which will be powering the future device and is expected to be super drastic.

The next iteration of MIUI is codenamed as MiKangy and is said to be based on the Google's latest OS the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. This new MIUI 7 is set to debut with the Mi 5 which is expected somewhere around August-September. But we do know that Xiaomi is not the fastest when it comes to software updates, so it may take time for more devices after the Mi 5.

AOKP is the after market ROM developer like Cyanogen. Just like YU Yureka and OnePlus teamed up with Cyanogen to introduce the CyanogenMod 11S based devices, the Xiaomi Mi5 will debut with MIUI 7 with special features and experience developed in tandem with AOKP team.
