Karbonn ventures into Mobile Accessories market with Power Banks


India-based smartphone maker Karbonn has announced its foray into the Mobile Accessories market by launching Power Banks and Screen Guards today.


The power banks will be made available in capacities of 5000 mAh, 7000 mAh and 10,000 mAh and will retail at prices of Rs. 999, Rs. 1,299 and Rs. 15,999 respectively. These will be available exclusively via e-commerce retailer Snapdeal from Wednesday.

The 10,000 mAh Li-Po power bank from Karbonn is touted to be India's first multi-power bank and packs an LED torch, TF card reader, and two standard USB ports along with an LCD display. The 7000 mAh power bank also features dual charging ports and LED indicators to display power capacity. Karbonn claims that all three power banks use an intelligent IC for efficient load fluctuation management.

In addition to the three power banks, Karbonn has also launched Screen Guards under the brand name "Ultra Clear" which will be available in physical as well as online retail stores. 

Commenting on the launch of the mobile accessories, Shashin Devsare, Executive Director of Karbonn said, "The increasing mobile adoption in India has given an impetus to the demand for mobile accessories market which is burgeoning rapidly. Currently, the accessories market is dominated by grey market products which impact the functioning and efficiency of the device. The move towards expanding our product portfolio to include mobile accessories is aimed at offering the consumer the choice of technologically superior mobile auxiliaries which are affordable. We are highly optimistic about the growth of Karbonn’s accessories vertical and expect it to touch 100 crores by the end of FY 2015-2016."
