Serial leakster @upleaks has a new set of leaked pics for us. This time it is the Sony Cosmos smartphone, which appears to be a selfie-centric phone due to its large front camera and front LED flash which can be seen in the picture.
The Sony Cosmos could be the successor of last year's Sony Xperia C3, which was a mid-ranged device with a 5 MP front camera and sported a front LED flash for capturing selfies.
The picture shows the device running Android Lollipop and the Xperia skin on top of it. Apart from the usual Xperia apps, there is also the Walkman app which is no longer available. A possible reason could be that the device is running a test UI version.
Upleaks has also reported that the devices carries the Model number E5306, Type Number PM-0860-BV, is current testing with 27.x software. While the processor on the device seems to be MediaTek MT6752. Sony seems to be adopting the Mediatek range fast, considering this would be the third Sony device of the year to feature a Mediatek SoC, after Xperia E4 and Xperia E4g.
The Sony Cosmos appears to be sporting a 4.4-inch LCD screen, just like the Xperia C3. No other details have surfaced and ofcourse there is no statement from Sony about the device yet.
Stay tuned with us for more updates from Sony and from around the tech world.
